THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Two roads diverged from a single lane
And my ponygirl huffed and stamped her hoof
As she impatiently shook her golden mane
Waiting for the tug on the bridle rein
Wondering why her Master was suddenly aloof

The one was muddy, unpaved, and rough
And led through woods so scary and dark
There were rocks and mudholes and other stuff
That would tax the skills of a ponygirl tough
Truly it was not a walk in the park

The other was straight and smooth and true
But travelled by people who filled her with shame
As the women weren't called by a ponygirl name
And wore what they pleased, from hairstyle to shoe
Unlike my pony, who was bridled and tame

So I snapped the one rein, made her head crook
Felt my cart move as her hooves hit the road
For we'd be returning with a full, heavy load
And it didn't much matter which lane we took
As it was me, and not her, who was the one being towed
